Lindahl Reed is pleased to announce that Nicole Hough, President and CEO, joined the Board of the East Cascades Works (EC Works). EC Works is a non-profit Local Workforce Investment Board (LWIB) formed in 2015 to convene, oversee and support the workforce development systems in the Hood River, Wasco, Gilliam, Sherman, Wheeler, Jefferson, Crook, Deschutes, Klamath and Lake Counties. In this capacity, EC Works partners with businesses, government entities and educational institutions to maximize and align investments in the talent needs of employers and increase residents’ access to education and training to support living-wage jobs and to fuel a thriving economy. This includes bringing together business, labor, education and economic development to focus on workforce issues and forging new relationships between business and education. EC Works uses federal and state funds to educate and train youth, build new skills for existing workforce, and help businesses find the qualified talent they need to succeed.

“I am thrilled to join the Board at EC Works and to be part of the solution to enhance the region’s ability to meet the workforce needs of local employers through the critical investment in human potential and creating opportunities for growth for both employers and regional residents,” said Nicole R Hough, President and Chief Executive Officer.  “Building and maintaining a quality workforce not only increases the competitiveness of local businesses, but also creates new opportunities for residents and workers for education and training opportunities, leading to advancement and wage gains.  Working together, we can make impacts on individuals that create living wage jobs and enhance the well-being of our community.”
