Vice Admiral (retired) Michael Devany Joins Lindahl Reed as Senior Advisory Consultant, Strengthening Strategic Marine and Environmental Expertise

WASHINGTON, DC, August 12, 2025 – Lindahl Reed, Inc., a leading provider of technical, scientific, engineering, and research services to federal and commercial business sectors, is pleased to announce the addition of Vice Admiral (VADM) Michael Devany (retired) as a Senior Advisory Consultant. With a distinguished background in marine science, asset management, and executive leadership, VADM Devany brings decades of strategic insight to our client engagements across the federal landscape.

VADM Devany’s extensive experience includes senior leadership roles at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), where he served as Deputy Under Secretary for Operations as well as Director of the NOAA Commissioned Officer Corps (NOAA Corps) and NOAA’s Office of Marine and Aviation Operations. In these roles, he oversaw complex national and international scientific initiatives, directed operational assets and infrastructure, and managed agency resources including a budget exceeding $5.7 billion and consisting of over 12,000 employees. His maritime career began as a U.S. Navy Surface Warfare Officer.

VADM Devany founded and led consulting ventures such as Navigator Advising and The Oceans 360 Group, providing high-level operational insight, technical expertise, and executive coaching to clients in marine science and related sectors. His work has enabled federal agencies to navigate evolving mission challenges while fostering innovation, resilience, and operational excellence.

As Senior Advisory Consultant, VADM Devany will support enterprise-wide strategic growth initiatives, lead mission-critical program development efforts, and mentor internal teams. In this role, he will continue to serve as a trusted advisor to senior government leaders, providing counsel on organizational structure, facilities and operations, workforce optimization, stakeholder engagement, and policy.

VADM Devany holds advanced degrees in Project Management and Environmental Health and has completed leadership training at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government and Seattle University’s Executive Leadership Program. He serves on the boards of several conservation-focused nonprofit organizations and remains actively engaged in military veteran support in the Pacific Northwest.
