WASHINGTON, DC, March 18, 2025 – Lindahl Reed, Inc., a leading provider of technical, scientific, and engineering services to the Department of Defense (DoD), Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Department of Energy (DOE), and other federal agencies, is pleased to engage with Computers 2 Kids (C2K) as part of its computer lifecycle strategy. This initial donation of 11 computers supports C2K’s mission of providing affordable access to technology for underserved communities.
Founded in 2004 by Larry and Tammy Hershfield, Computers 2 Kids (C2K) has worked to close the digital divide by refurbishing and redistributing used computers. The organization provides technology along with essential training and support, empowering individuals and families to thrive in the digital world.
“When corporations like Lindahl Reed donate their retired electronics to Computers 2 Kids, they’re not just clearing out old equipment but investing in the future,” said Cheri Pierre, CEO of Computers 2 Kids. “They provide a tangible bridge to digital equity for underserved children, empowering them with the tools they need to succeed in today’s world. It’s a powerful act of corporate social responsibility that transforms old technology into new opportunities.”
“Since its inception, Lindahl Reed has instilled in me this concept of ‘Doing Well By Doing Good,’” said Adam Kellett, Director of IT at Lindahl Reed. “I’ve been tracking Computers 2 Kids for years because they are the third largest nonprofit refurbisher in the country and they’re right here in my backyard. I hope we can set an example to our peers and customers that computer hardware has a much longer lifecycle than we expect.”
