U.S. Department of Energy, Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy
As the U.S. energy landscape evolves, modernizing the electric grid has become a national priority. Increased integration of distributed energy resources (DER), additional power generation from all sources, and the expanded use of electric vehicles (EV) has added complexity to utility planning and grid operations. To maintain a grid that is resilient, secure, reliable, and affordable, the Department of Energy’s (DOE) Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) needs cross-cutting support to coordinate interconnection strategies, engage with utilities and regulators, and track the performance and impact of modernization efforts.
Lindahl Reed provides DOE with technical, operational, and strategic support across initiatives focused on grid modernization and energy system integration. Our work spans multiple programs and offices, delivering critical services, such as:
Lindahl Reed’s work empowers DOE to deliver a grid that is smart, adaptive, and capable of integrating diverse resources easily without compromising performance or affordability. We accomplish this by facilitating effective planning, engaging key stakeholders, and tracking the outcomes of transformative investments in grid innovation and resilience.
“I wanted to express to you how invaluable [Lindahl Reed’s staff’s] support has been in the GTO GRID FOA process… really crushing in the support she provides…. I really appreciate her high level of professionalism and clear communication style, and more broadly her support across the geothermal heating and cooling portfolio. DMA is super lucky to have [her] on our team!!”
