Dempsey is a nationally recognized leader in asset management. He has over 30 years of experience generating value from and through management of assets. As an officer in the Coast Guard and a professional civil engineer, Dempsey developed experience and expertise in efficiently and effectively managing complex facilities and infrastructure on lean budgets. He leveraged this knowledge and experiences into the development and deployment of industry best practices such as co-creating the Mission Dependency Index and pioneering the Operational Readiness investment methodology.

Dempsey’s service-oriented approach to asset management includes pro bono work serving on the National Academies’ Board on Infrastructure and the Constructed Environment and as the U.S. Head of Delegation to the ISO Technical Committee 251, which authors the ISO 55000 standards series. His work with these and other organizations includes coauthoring seminal works such as the National Academies’ Strategies to Renew Federal Facilities and the 2024 updates to ISO 55000 and ISO 55001. As Senior Director of Asset Management, Dempsey will lead practice development and continue to deliver value generating solutions for clients who need their facilities and built infrastructure to work harder and smarter supporting achievement of the organization’s mission and purpose it serves.
