Lindahl Reed, Inc. (Lindahl Reed), a leading provider of technical, scientific, and engineering services to the Department of Energy, Department of Defense, and other federal agencies, announced today it has been awarded a two-year contract with the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), Office of the Chief Economist (OCE), to provide technical support for agriculture and carbon offset markets.  Lindahl Reed’s agricultural and carbon market experts will analyze voluntary carbon markets, assess market barriers, and evaluate technologies and options to facilitate expansion of those markets.  We will also identify additional market-based opportunities for agricultural greenhouse gas (GHG) mitigation. The results of our research and analysis will inform USDA, Congress, the private sector, state governments, and others seeking to support agricultural carbon offset markets intended to incentivize voluntary GHG emissions reductions from the agricultural sector.

“This contract expands on the sustainable agriculture work that Lindahl Reed has been supporting at the USDA since 2019,” said Nicole Hough, Lindahl Reed President and Chief Executive Officer.  “Our work supports USDA to achieve its goal to maximize revenue for farmers, ranchers, and forest landowners in GHG and carbon markets.  These programs will not only provide additional income to agricultural producers, but will also increase their resilience to climate change by increasing the natural capital of their operations.”
