Lindahl Reed is pleased to announce it has been awarded a contract by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Administration for Children and Families (ACF), Office of Human Services Emergency Preparedness and Response (OHSEPR) to develop the first ever Disaster Human Services Capabilities Guide for State, Tribal, Local, and Territorial (STLT) programs. The capabilities guide will provide STLT staff with planning capabilities and related action steps to consider or choose when a major disaster occurs. This project will be informed by past experiences and lessons learned from previous disasters such as: the COVID-19 pandemic; 2020 wildfire season on the West Coast; Hurricanes Irma, Maria, and Harvey in 2017; and the Flint water crisis in 2014.

“Lindahl Reed is thrilled to support OHSEPR with this important project,” said Nicole Hough, Lindahl Reed President and Chief Executive Officer.  “We are proud to work in collaboration with the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), Federal Administration for Emergency Management (FEMA), Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and offices throughout ACF to develop a Disaster Human Services Capabilities Guide to provide program managers with a tool to quickly identify and prioritize key tasks and to develop an action plan when an emergency occurs.”
